SOMEDAY SOON

I've always liked this song, and have it down pretty good on the guitar.  I have transposed the lyrics to "young girl" since I didn't like the idea of singing about a young man 😋  There are two versions of Someday Soon below, one by a young Judy Collins and the other by a more senior Collins, followed by the lyrics - song and lyrics by Ian Tyson of Ian & Sylvia fame.

There’s a young man that a know, his age is twenty one
Comes from down in southern Colorado
Just out of the service and he’s lookin' for his fun
Someday soon goin' with him someday soon

My parents cannot stand him 'cause he rides the rodeo
My father says that he will leave me cryin'
I would follow him right down the toughest road I know
Someday soon goin' with him someday soon

And when he comes to call, my pa ain’t got a good word to say
Guess it's 'cause he was just as wild in the younger days

So blow you ol’ blue northern, blow my love to me
He’s drivin’ in tonight from California
He loves his damned ol’ rodeo as much as he loves me
Someday soon goin' with him someday soon

And when he comes to call, my pa ain’t got a word to say
Guess it's 'cause he was just as wild in the younger days

Blow you ol’ blue northern, blow my love to me
He’s drivin’ in tonight from California
He loves his damned ol’ rodeo as much as he loves me
Someday soon goin' with him someday soon
Someday soon goin' with him someday soon

Be interesting for you to post some video of you playing and singing.

Bizzy - you are too gracious!! Don't hold your breath. However, I have written a grand total of one song, and a group of friends recently played it with me, and it actually sounded quite good! [they are good musicians]. So, I hope to get a recording some time of the group doing the song, and if that happens, it will appear here! I may do a post sometime with the lyrics to make sure that I get credit :-)
